Lake Season

Lake season has officially started! We love this great family activity so much. The younger kids have to remember how much they like it each year, but by the time we leave they are talking about coming back. Coleman was a little hesitant to wakeboard--he said he didn't remember how, so I told him "it's like riding a bike." He says, "No it's not, cause you ride sideways and a bike is forwards and your hands are out here and . . ." A little explanation was needed. But once he got out there and wakeboarded like a pro he got my meaning. I didn't have my camera, so I'm including a picture from last year. He learned to get a little air last year.

This one is from the year before, right before he turned 5--What a stud!

Garrett also wakeboarded and I skied, but we both wore wet suits--wimpy, I know. Coleman was so tough--he jumped right in in just his swim shorts and life jacket. I'll also include a couple of last years' pictures of us, just for fun. For those who've never been here, we're lucky enough to have these man-made lakes very close to our house. We get to ski a lot more than we used to when we had to drive 45 minutes to the lake.

We had a great visit with Garrett's parents this week. Claire and Coleman had a special visit to their classes from Grandpa Mike, cowboy poet. He was a huge hit with the kids and the teachers, and Claire and Coleman felt pretty special. Coleman's class will be studying cowboys next week, so it was the perfect thing to kick it off.

Grandma Dixie was able to spend lots of time just loving and playing!

Thanks for a great visit--we love you!!!

Cannon and Heidi both came home talking about the cow boy stories. They loved it! When ever you need a friend to take to the lake I'm there! =) It is sooo fun!
