Future Federers

Garrett has been giving tennis lessons to Claire and Coleman and some friends, the Halvorsons. It is so cute to watch the kids learning and really fun to see how excited Garrett gets. Yesterday during a drill Coleman hit a forehand (pictured below) that Garrett was giddy about. He turned to me and said, "This is my proudest moment of Coleman's life." And he was totally serious.

Claire isn't as enthusiastic about the whole thing, but since she has a friend there (who is very interested) she endures it. We're hoping that she will be willing to keep with it long enough to get a little better so she can see that it is really fun. She has a lot of natural ability, but she doesn't have a lot of desire--yet.

Garrett didn't mind that I posted this picture even though he looks really funny because it shows how Claire is looking at the ball through the racket like Federer. That was his main lesson for the kids yesterday. Seriously, he told them all about how this one thing makes Federer the best in the world and he wants them to learn it from the beginning. Have I mentioned lately how obsessed he is with tennis? See new favorite picture below :)

How fun! Paul and I passes by some tennis courts the other day and he said "we should play tennis some day." We've never really played tennis but we love ping pong.
