Happy Birthday Anson!

Anson loves trains, so his doting mother made him a train birthday cake. It wasn't my fanciest or most beautiful, but it turned out pretty cute and he LOVED it! He kept standing at the table and pointing and saying, "Look! Birthday cake!" Every time he saw it he got excited and pointed out the different parts. So all the effort was worth it. Plus, I experimented with coconut oil and had great success. I used half butter and half coconut oil for the decorator icing, which usually needs to be shortening, and it worked wonderfully and it tasted even better.

He makes great excited faces--I just love them! This is a present from Grammy and Grandpa . . .

. . . and here he is getting another one. Do you think he likes it?

Love that handsome face! I can't believe our baby is 2! He is such a loving, happy boy. We are so blessed to have him.

He also loves games, so he got this game that also involves pounding--a great love of any normal 2-year-old boy.

I had to include this--he's listening to the entire Burbidge clan singing Happy Birthday. I don't think he quite knew what to think of it!

Maybe his favorite part of the whole weekend--being Grandpa's helper. My dad always helps me out with my yard and this time was no different. I had a list when he came and we got it all done in a day, plus a little more. Anson was very happy to take weeds to the wheelbarrow for Grandpa.

Or this could have been his favorite part of the weekend. Grammy and Grandpa will have to fight it out on this one! He loves getting comfort from Grammy.

I just saw that Garrett added this clip--thanks! It's from his phone, so not the greatest quality, but still fun to see.

I love the train cake! I just posted Kayla's B-Day on my blog. Anson's train makes Kayla's cake look a lot less glamorous. I love that your parents came! I think they are amazing! It's nice to have our babies grow up isn't it? A little more freedom here and there is a happy thing. =)

Way cute cake Amy! So talented!I've never tried a 3D cake...I'm always afraid they'll fall over. Oh, and we love the Don't Break the Ice game at our house too! Looks like it was a great party for a 2 year old! Rebecca

I'm too lazy to look up your email, but one of my favorite friends, Carrie Grummert, said she was mission companions with you. I can't remember her maiden name now...I'll get it, if you don't remember her. She has dark brown hair and wears glasses, from northern California. She was my counselor in the RS, and is now the president in our old ward. Anyways, small world. Rebecca
